Temporary Graduate Visa Subclass 485 streams

There are two eligibility streams for getting graduate visa 485 depending on the studies you completed in the country:

Post-study work stream: In this stream, visa validity can range from 2 to 4 years. It allows you to live, work, study, and travel in Australia during your stay. It provides visa stay for:

• 2 years for a Bachelor or Master’s degree holder
• 3 years for Master by Research
• 4 years for a Doctorate or Ph.D. degree

The Graduate work stream: It is for the students who have completed a diploma or certification course in Australia and remains valid for a maximum of 18 months in the country. It also allows you to live, work, study, and travel in Australia during your stay.

Both streams of this visa allow the holder to bring their eligible family members (spouses, de facto partners, and dependent children) to Australia on their 485 visas.

Eligibility Criteria for Temporary Graduate Visa 485

To get approved for this visa category and avail of its benefits, applicants need to fulfill certain 485 visa requirements

before applying for the same:

Age Limit

The main applicant must be under 50 years at the time of the visa application.

Study in Australia

The applicant must have completed the course that is registered under the CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) witha 2-years study requirement.

Visa Qualification

The applicant must hold an eligible student visa at the time of application.

SkillAssessment

Applicants will need to pass skills assessment for the particular skill based on their qualifications along with an English language proficiency test.

Health Examinations and Insurance

Applicants need to pass certain medical examinations for a grant for a 485 visa. They also must hold appropriate health insurance from a recognized Australian insurance company during your stay in the country.

Time Limit

Applicants must apply for a Temporary Graduate subclass 485 visa within 6 months of completion of your studies.
